“Apart from the closing of the MINUSTAH, the resolution 2350 establishes a new mission, the United Nations Mission for Justice Support in Haiti for an initial period of six months, from 16 October 2017 until 15 April 2018.”

Following the UN Security Council's decission to terminate its peacekeeping mission in Haiti, the mission leadership has started preparations for the troops withdrawal.
Peacekeepers from Uruguay and Peru will be first to depart, starting Tuesday, 18 April. All military personnel are scheduled to leave Haiti before 15 October 2017.
In the country’s capital Port-au-Prince, Sandra Honore, Special Representative of the Secretary-General in Haiti told reporters today (17 Apr) that the new mission – scheduled to replace the current peacekeeping operation starting 16 October 2017, will operate “with a reduced mandate” and it will primarily “assist the government of Haiti in enforcing the rule of law, provide operational and technical assistance to the PNH (Police of Haiti) in achieving its strategical development during the period of 2017-2021 as well as assisting in reporting and analysing in the matters of Human Rights.”
The United Nations Stabilisation Mission in Haiti, known under its French acronym MINUSTAH was established in 2004 and it will be replaced with MINUJUSTH – the United Nations Mission for Justice Support in Haiti, according to the recent UN Security Council resolution 2350.
