The President of Bolivia, Evo Morales, today (19 Sep) told the General Assembly’s General Debate that “it is unjustifiable and inadmissible” that the United States has decided to pull out from the Paris climate agreement.
As one of the world’s biggest polluters, and by rejecting this global effort, Morales said the US government “has become a threat against Mother Earth.”
The Bolivian President condemned “the unilateral sanctions and the threats of an invasion by the government of the United States against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,” and added that the Latin American region “is not anyone’s backyard.”
Morales said it was “clear that the government of the United States is the main threat against Mother Earth, against multilateralism, against peace, and against freedom.”
