Venezuela’s President, Nicolás Maduro, today (26 Sep) told the General Assembly that his country “is the victim of a permanent aggression” and “has been subjugated for the past two years through a series of unilateral and illegal measures of economic persecution, of economic blockade.”

Maduro said that “a case file” has been built in the international media “in order to pretend that there is a humanitarian crisis” in Venezuela “to justify a coalition of countries headed by the government of the United States and their satellite governments in Latin America to put their hands on our country.”

The President of Venezuela said, “all investigations lead to the conclusion that the terrorist attack of 4 August was prepared, was financed, and was planned from inside United States territory.”

He said that the names of those responsible for planning and financing the attack – conducted with explosive drones during a military parade - to the US government through diplomatic channels.

Maduro said that “despite of all the differences, which we could say are abysmal” he is willing to meet with US President Donald J. Trump “and have a dialogue about the issues and bilateral differences as well as our regional issues.”
