Speaking to residents in the outskirts of the country’s capital Juba at an event meant to disseminate the peace agreement, South Sudan’s Minister of information Michael Makuei has announced that the Revitalized transitional government of national unity will be formed on November 12.
The event was organized by the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and the Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (R-JMEC), aiming at promoting peace and a peace agreement signed in September 2018.
2,000 residents, from a neighbourhood in the outskirts of South Sudan’s capital Juba, listened and watched as speaker after speaker articulated various views.
Some women leaders in the area higligthed difficulties they experienced during conflict.

Others said they were looking forward to the formation of the government.

Also speaking at the event, a high-ranking government official said there will be no delays after the current six-month extension on the implementation of the peace agreement.

The head of UNMISS was also at hand encouraging the UNMISS support to peace in the country.
