“The number of internally displaced people in Sudan is staggering. 3.7 million so far this year, over 200,000 newly displaced as a result of insecurity and violence. And most of these people in Darfur. I have just had a chance to meet with the communities of internally displaced and with human rights activists. And their message is loud and clear. Implementation of the Juba Peace Agreement, making sure that the State is fully present and active, fighting impunity, but also making sure that there is a safe and peaceful environment so that people can find solutions for themselves, especially when it comes to going back to their homeland.”
