“This war is against the principles underpinning our collective security. It is also a war against all countries suffering from food insecurity that Russia voluntarily aggravates. Because it’s Russia and Russia only that blocks the Black Sea. It’s Russia that is destroying the port facilities in Ukraine and hundreds of thousands of grains.”

Ahead of today (20 Sep)’s Security Council meeting on Ukraine, Edi Rama, Prime Minister of Albania, said TO REPORTERS, “An unprovoked and unjustified war of choice has brought a deadly and enduring conflict in the heart of Europe. Nothing good has come out of it.”
Rama also said that helping Ukraine defend itself by holding Russia today sends the “right message and the best one to anyone thinking to engage in similar adventures tomorrow.”
He continued, “Because if aggression succeeds, it may signal the end of the world as we know it's the end of the inviolability of borders.”
He concluded, “We have to prove that if a permanent member of the Security Council can veto a resolution in the Security Council, it cannot veto the freedom of its neighbor, their right to exist, and their ability to choose the future.”
Catherine Colonna, Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, also addressed the press before today’s Security Council meeting.
