In particular, to take the necessary health measures to protect the survivors in the city of Derna and the adjoining cities in order to avert the health disasters that experts are warning about.”

“Our people have set an example through its solidarity, unity, national cohesion, responsibility and these voices must be heard. It is time for democracy to begin in Libya, grounded in the will of the people, with the support of friendly countries, the United Nations, the AU, and the League of Arab States. It is therefore necessary to carry out elections to ensure unified authority for free elections with the logistical support that is needed.”

More than a week after floods caused by Storm Daniel devastated eastern Libya, killing thousands and displacing many more, the country’s Minister of Youth, Fatalla AF Elzuni, called upon the world “to live up to its responsibility to Libya in order to help cope with the aftermath of this disaster.”
Speaking today (20 Sep) at the High-level week of the General Assembly, Elzuni added, “In particular, to take the necessary health measures to protect the survivors in the city of Derna and the adjoining cities in order to avert the health disasters that experts are warning about.”
The Minister continued, “Our people have set an example through its solidarity, unity, national cohesion, responsibility and these voices must be heard.
