3. SOUNDBITE (English) Sean Casey, Emergency Medical Team Coordinator, World Health Organization (WHO):
“Today we had a joint mission, World Health Organization with UNFPA, the UN Population Fund, to deliver several truckloads of supplies to the central drug store, which is behind me, as well as to a field hospital that's being established by UNRWA, the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine here in Gaza. Here at the central drug store, we're depositing supplies that will support four hospitals, including Nassar Medical Complex and other hospitals in the middle area in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. This is an approach to empower the hospitals to use the system that was already in place, but it's also to overcome challenges that we have consistently in accessing hospitals. We have difficulty getting clearance, we have limited time to access these hospitals. So, by depositing to the Central drugstore here, each hospital will come and retrieve its supplies, and refill their pharmacies, their stocks, so that they can care for patients. This is the first time we've been able to make this delivery in about ten days. So, hospitals have been running short on some supplies. But we hope that this delivery and future deliveries will help to meet the needs of these hospitals, which are working at two or three times their normal capacity. They are seeing many trauma cases, many routine presentations, and they're working with very minimal staffing in some cases because, staff have been displaced.”

6. Wide shot, Casey and staff at field hospital
7. SOUNDBITE (English) Sean Casey, Emergency Medical Team Coordinator, World Health Organization (WHO):
“So, today we're at a field hospital that's being established here at Nasser Stadium in Khan Younis Governorate, which is intended to support Nasser Medical Complex, which is the nearby hospital. Nasser Medical Complex is currently, working at about 200 percent of its normal bed capacity, actually a bit more, and it has only 30 percent of its staff remaining. So, they are actually having to ration care. And the hospital is full of people who are displaced, as well as patients who have had surgery and have nowhere else to go.”
8. Various shots, humanitarian staff working on water supply lines
9. SOUNDBITE (English) Sean Casey, Emergency Medical Team Coordinator, World Health Organization (WHO):
“The plan for this site that's being set up by UNRWA is to bring maybe 100 to 200 patients from Nasser Medical Complex here to recover with clean conditions and good care. So, it will decompress the hospital, relieve the pressure on the hospital. We are here with an Emergency Medical Team looking at how an International Emergency Medical Team could potentially support this facility and care for patients here.”

Some 613 people have died within health facilities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory since 7 October last year - 606 in Gaza and seven in the West Bank - and more than 770 have been injured, according to latest data on healthcare attacks from the UN health agency.
