“We are receiving an unimaginable number of cases, aside from the injured people cases we are also receiving big numbers of sick people. The hospital cannot accommodate these numbers of patients. 3. Med shot, patient on stretcher in overcrowded hospital
4. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Dr. Munther Abu Sharkh, Doctor, El-Najar Hospital:

5. Various shots, patient being examined and treated by medical staff
6. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Ahmed Wahbeh, Displaced person:

8. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Ahmed Wahbeh, Displaced person:
“Since yesterday and up until this moment we are staying here in this clinic, it’s not even an official place, we are basically in a corridor, and me and my sisters spent the night here, it was a very tough night. (Off camera: “why?” ) Because my family members are injured and they need their treatment and painkillers, but nothing is available here not their medicine and there’s no anesthesia available either.”
9. Med shot, young girl sitting on blankets
10. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Dr Areej, Doctor, El-Najar Hospital:
“Honestly, the entire medical staff is trying to provide some privacy especially for women, because due to the hospital situation with its departments crowded and full, it’s hard to have some privacy in fact I don’t say that privacy has become permissible but the hospital’s situation is a huge factor of the lack of privacy. But frankly the situation for women is quite tough with these circumstances.”

Storyline

Heavy bombardment, movement restrictions, and interrupted communications are making it nearly impossible to deliver medical supplies regularly and safely across Gaza, particularly in the north.

Most hospitals are severely short-staffed, as health workers have left due to evacuation orders or insecurity. Meanwhile, patients' access to health facilities is impeded by perilous conditions. Without adequate health care, the suffering in Gaza is growing each hour.
