OCHA Operations and Advocacy Division Director, Edem Wosornu, visited Ukraine where the deterioration of humanitarian needs along the front line and non-stop hostilities continue to cause suffering to millions of people, 10 years into the war.
SOUNDBITE (English) Edem Wosornu, Director of Operations and Advocacy, Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA):
“We’re standing in Myrne village. Where you can see a lot of destruction. The frontline was just across from there.”

“Thirty percent of the inhabitants of this village came back. And they are using all means necessary to restore their homes.”
During her mission, Wosornu visited the east and south of the country, as well as the capital Kyiv, meeting with people affected by the war and humanitarian organizations who work round-the-clock to assist them, particularly during the winter.
SOUNDBITE (English) Edem Wosornu, Director of Operations and Advocacy, Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA):

Her visit underlies the importance of principled humanitarian action in Ukraine, including through improved access to all people in need, in all parts of the country.
