During a visit to Sudan to witness the impact of the ongoing war on children, UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell on Tuesday (25 Jun) toured the Abdullah Naj internally displaced people's (IDPs) gathering point, engaging with children and adolescents displaced by war.
The Executive Director met Yomna, 11; Marwa, 14; Lujain, 15; and Bothaina, 14, who related their experiences.
UNICEF provides e-learning services; adolescent clubs; a child friendly space where children can learn through play; water, sanitation and hygiene services; and child protection, health and nutrition programmes, all benefitting displaced children and young people.
