World Health Organization (WHO) and partners completed a mission to Sahaba and Public Aid hospitals in Gaza city.
Despite the challenges, they successfully delivered 22,000 liters of fuel to both hospitals, transferred 5 critical patients ranging from ages 6 months to 15 years to the Middle Area for future evacuation outside Gaza, and facilitated the return of an emergency medical team from Public Aid Hospital, which had been providing advanced trauma care for almost 4 weeks.
WHO and partners move patients who need more specialized care from one facility to another and hope to arrange for evacuation outside the Strip.
WHO also helps emergency medical teams to reach the health facilities they are supporting, and to leave when their rotations are done.
WHO supplies fuel to hospitals in Gaza, and to partner health facilities, who are running on generators and cannot function without fuel.
