United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix today (1 Aug) met Brig. Gen. Edgard Lawandos, South Litani Sector Commander and visited the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Headquarters in Naqoura.
Lacroix stressed the need to support the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) in extending their authority in the south, as per Resolution 1701.
UNIFIL expressed commitment to strengthening the LAF’s capacity in the area.
