3. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Imad Abdallah, Displaced from his hometown of Bint Jbeil:
“I had to leave Bint Jbeil five months ago, but I stayed there for the first three months, but could no longer live with this crisis. So I came here to the Union of Tyre Municipalities. I am here today with UNIFIL’s Italian battalion for a medical examination, and they gave me free medicine, and I thank them for the humanitarian effort they are making. They are carrying out their duties and helping the displaced population of south Lebanon.”

United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL) peacekeepers from Italy and Ghana, along with members of the Lebanese Red Cross, are providing crucial medical care to people displaced from Blue Line towns and villages to the city of Tyre, south Lebanon.
This medical aid is part of a series of support projects UNIFIL is implementing for the benefit of southerners during these difficult times.
