10 SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Dr. Mohsen Al-Jarjawi, Head, Vaccination Point:
“The decision by the World Health Organization, in cooperation with the Palestinian Ministry of Health, is to vaccinate children from the age of one day up to ten years old. This dose is a booster to prevent the disease. We hope that all the children in Gaza receive this vaccination to protect them from this disease, which is a burden on children, families, and the Ministry of Health. One of the known causes is malnutrition, the imposed blockade, and the ongoing war on Gaza. Additionally, the lack of sanitation, waste disposal, and the rubble from destroyed homes have exacerbated the spread of diseases, including concerns about polio.”
11. Various shots, vaccination campaign
For the second consecutive day, health teams continue a polio vaccination campaign in northern Gaza, supported by UN organizations that have successfully delivered vaccines to the northern areas of the Strip.
SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Islam Saleh, Mother:

According to the UN Palestinian refugee agency (UNRWA,) the vaccination campaign continues despite all the challenges, and thanks to the dedication of its health workers.
