4. SOUNDBITE (Spanish) Javier Milei, President, Argentina:
“The United Nations was born out of the horror of the cruellest war. An organization that had been essentially designed as a shield to protect the kingdom of men, was transformed into a leviathan with multiple tentacles that seeks to decide not only what each nation state should do, but also how all the citizens of the world should live. This is how we went from an organization that was pursuing peace to an organization that imposes an ideological agenda on its members on an endless number of issues that affect human life in society. The United Nations model that had been successful - its origin can be traced back to the ideas of President Wilson, who spoke of the Peace Society without victory - and which was based on the cooperation of nation states, has been abandoned, it has been replaced by a model of supranational government of international bureaucrats who seek to impose a specific way of life on the citizens of the world. What is being discussed this week here in New York, at the summit of the future, is nothing other than the deepening of that tragic course that this institution has adopted.”

6. SOUNDBITE (Spanish) Javier Milei, President, Argentina:
“In this very house that claims to defend human rights, bloody dictatorships such as those of Cuba and Venezuela have been allowed to join the Human Rights Council, without the slightest reproach. In this same cause, which claims to defend women's rights, allows admission to the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women to countries that punish their women for showing their skin. In this very house, it has been systematically voted against the State of Israel, which is the only country in the Middle East that defends liberal democracy, while simultaneously demonstrating a total inability to respond to the scourge of terrorism.”

8. SOUNDBITE (Spanish) Javier Milei, President, Argentina:
“If Agenda 2030 failed, as its own promoters recognize, the answer should be to ask ourselves if it wasn't an ill-conceived program, begin to accept that reality and change course. You cannot pretend to persist in the error by doubling down on an agenda that has failed. The same thing always happens with ideas that come from the left. They design a model according to what the human being should do according to them. And when individuals freely act differently, they have no better solution than to restrict, suppress and curtail their freedom.”

“Long live freedom, damn it! Thank you very much.”

Argentine President Javier Milei today (24 Sep) told the General Assembly General Debate that the Agenda 2030 is being “imposed” on Member States, and said the Pact of the Future, adopted Sunday “is nothing more than going further down the tragic path adopted by this institution.”
Milei said, “the United Nations was born out of the horror of the cruellest war. An organization that had been essentially designed as a shield to protect the kingdom of men, was transformed into a leviathan with multiple tentacles that seeks to decide not only what each nation state should do, but also how all the citizens of the world should live. This is how we went from an organization that was pursuing peace to an organization that imposes an ideological agenda on its members on an endless number of issues that affect human life in society.”
He said the Organization is “a model of supranational government of international bureaucrats who seek to impose a specific way of life on the citizens of the world.”
