“We learned about the vaccination through messages on our phones and also through Ministry of Health mobilizers who visited us in our tents. They have also told us about the importance of having the vitamin A booster shot, to support children’s immunity. We came to ensure our children receive the vaccination, prioritizing their health. We struggle with poor hygiene and malnutrition; I lost a daughter due to malnutrition.”

7. SOUNDBITE (English) Melanie Galvin - chief of health and nutrition at UNICEF in the state of Palestine:
“What's a little bit different this time is Vitamin A has been added to this round. Vitamin A is one of those vitamins that nobody's heard of but is extremely powerful. It is an immunity booster for children. It will protect anywhere from maybe 15 per cent to 25 per cent from dying of various diseases that they may otherwise be susceptible to. So, it's an extremely powerful immunity booster, and we're very pleased that it was added to this campaign. We're seeing huge numbers of fathers bringing their children, mothers bringing their children into these clinics. We saw 77,000 children receive vitamin A yesterday. And we hope for a similar amount today. This is really, very difficult environment to be a child. They are exposed to very dirty water. There's really a lack of sanitation in general, and this all affects their immune system. These kids are very malnourished. Another problem that we have. So, Vitamin A extremely powerful and we hope to continue to see this.”
8. Various shots, the entrance of the UNRWA Nuseirat Health Center in central Gaza, signs in Arabic encourage vaccination for children under 10, emphasizing that the vaccines are both safe and free
