Storyline

On 19 January, 32 UNICEF trucks entered the Gaza Strip with water, hygiene kits and winter clothes, to the south of the Gaza Strip. More than 630 trucks with humanitarian aid entered Gaza, with at least 300 of them going to the north. The supplies were delivered to UNICEF warehouses in Deir Al-Balah to be prepared for distribution.
UNICEF and partners are scaling up the response, with a total of 1,300 truckloads lined up to deliver life-saving nutrition, water and sanitation (WASH), health and essential education and psychosocial supplies for children and families in urgent need. An additional 700 truckloads are set to follow. The parties to the conflict must ensure safe, unimpeded access for humanitarian aid to reach every child.
