“UN Women deeply values the League's advocacy and convening roles with Member States to regularly review, implement and capitalize on the work of the Arab women mediators network, further supporting national level mediation efforts, including in local peacebuilding efforts in countries most affected by conflict. This year we will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the landmark UN Security Council resolution 1325, on women peace and security. For our commemoration to have real value, we must act to ensure women are at the table in peace talks. They secure their access to humanitarian aid and invest in their leadership in meaningful participation in building sustainable peace. I call on the Member States, donors, civil society, to join UN Women and the League of Arab States in this mission.”
