On Apr 9, WHO in collaboration with the EU supported the medical evacuation of 18 patients to Norway, Malta, Luxembourg, and Romania via Kerem Shalom. 29 companions travelled with the patients.
With the Rafah crossing closed since 18 March and daily medical evacuations suspended, far too few patients are able to leave Gaza for the urgent care they desperately need. 10,500 -12,500 patients in Gaza still need medical evacuation.
WHO urgently calls for the immediate resumption of medical evacuations through all possible routes, including the restoration of medical referrals to the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
