This draft presented by Spain contains the main provisions from the document that was vetoed last week, a demand for an immediate, unconditional and permanent cease fire, the release of all hostages and lifting the blockade on Gaza. Its aims are exclusively humanitarian in nature, and focus on the most important thing, ending the slaughter of human lives in Gaza.”

“Blind support to Hamas by the members of this body further undermines the meaningful diplomacy underway to free the hostages and emboldens Hamas as the terrorist group continues to reject cease fire proposals accepted by Israel, as the United States has made clear time and time again, we do not support one sided measures that fail to condemn Hamas.”
