Storyline

World Health Organization (WHO) completed medical evacuations from Gaza to Jordan (19 child patients and 39 companions) and Türkiye (4 patients and 7 companions).

During the evacuation, strikes near the convoy damaged the bus, ambulances and vehicles transporting the patients, their companions, and WHO staff.

No injuries were reported, but the incident was distressing for the patients and families.

WHO thanks the governments and health workers in Jordan and Türkiye for their continued solidarity and support.

More than 10 000 people in Gaza still need medical evacuation.

WHO calls for the protection of all patients, medical staff, and ambulances, and for medical evacuations to be expedited through all possible routes.
