“The existing medications and the items provided by the UAE are very important for both chronic and child patients. They constitute an essential part of our daily needs, as most of these medications are needed on a permanent basis, including some antibiotics that are very difficult to obtain.”

“In collaboration with UAE, WHO received 11 trucks of medical supplies. Those medical supplies include medications for children, surgical disposable items as well as some medications for the NCD (non-communicable disease) patients. We are looking for more collaboration and continuous support from the UAE mission.”

“This convoy is part of a larger medical convoy headed to the Gaza Strip. God willing, it will arrive in the coming days. The shipment of trucks has already reached the World Health Organization's warehouses, which will begin distributing the medicines and medical supplies that have arrived in the Gaza Strip, amid the catastrophic medical situation that Gaza strip is suffering from.”

Since 1 August, the World Health Organization (WHO) has brought 36 trucks of medical supplies and one cold chain truck with 12 pallets of blood into Gaza. The items include essential medicines, trauma and surgery supplies, treatments for non-communicable diseases, and laboratory and water testing supplies. They will be transported to health facilities and health partners in the coming days. WHO urges for the continued facilitation of a sustained, uninterrupted and scaled-up flow of health aid.
