“My daughter was born with a tumor on her face, and the doctors diagnosed it as a Cystic Hygroma.”

“My daughter suffered a lot from the swelling in her face, which has made it difficult for her to breathe, speak, and even difficult to play with other children. People wonder what is wrong with my daughter's face. I took her to the doctors, but the doctors couldn't find treatment for my daughter. They told me that Julia needs treatment outside the Gaza Strip.”

“Kinan was displaced to one of the UNRWA schools. He was injured as a result of a missile fired from a reconnaissance plane at the displacement site. As a result, Kinan was seriously injured; he had plates installed in both legs, a fracture in his right hand, and a fracture in his head. My wife also was also seriously injured, and the injury led to her death.”

“Kinan is an 8-year-old kid who was very cheerful, playful, he loved gatherings, and loved to talk, he was always happy, but unfortunately after his injury, he changed, Kinan completely changed, he was greatly emotionally affected by the injury. He was also affected by his mother’s injury and even more by her death.”

“Today, the World Health Organization is organizing another medevac mission. We are at the PRCS Field Hospital on the Coastal Road in Al-Mawasi. Patients, companions and caregivers will start from here with ambulances, buses, and escort from WHO so that they get safely through the combat zones to Kerem Shalom, and from Kerem Shalom, they will cross outside, where other vehicles will take them to Ramon Airport and to Allenby Bridge to cross to Italy, UK and Jordan. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Many more medevac missions are needed, and many more receiving countries are needed. The World Health Organization is committed to supporting such missions.”

On 29 September, WHO supported the evacuation of 14 patients and 38 companions from Gaza to Jordan and 15 patients and 65 companions to Italy. This brings the total number of patients evacuated from Gaza since October 2023 to 7841.
Approximately 15 600 patients still need medical evacuation out of Gaza. WHO continues to call for the restoration of the medical referral to the West Bank and East Jerusalem and for more countries to accept patients.
