Storyline

Displaced persons and residents in the Gaza Strip expressed their joy over the announcement of a ceasefire that ended two consecutive years of war.

Some voiced hope that the agreement would mark the beginning of the end of their suffering and a return to normal life after a harsh period of displacement spent in tents under difficult living conditions.

Nasser Al-Najjar was displaced from the northern part of the Strip.

SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Nasser Al-Najjar, Displaced Person:
“It is a good feeling. Praise be to God, we are very happy about the announcement of the ceasefire and the end of the genocide, killing, displacement, and destruction. Faraj Abd Rabbo has been living in one of the camps.
