As the ceasefire takes hold in Gaza, the United Nations and its partners are rapidly scaling up operations as conditions on the ground allow, delivering life-saving assistance in areas that had been cut off for months.
Since October 2023, the devastating war has destroyed or damaged over 80 percent of all structures in Gaza.
UNDP PAPP, in partnership with the Palestinian Ministry of Public Works and Housing, continued its rubble removal interventions.

This year, UNDP has cleaned and repurposed over 81,000 tonnes of rubble, allowing access to critical access routes for aid, priority roads, and public facilities.
UN Satellite imaging estimates released in September 2025 put the put the amount of rubble at 61 million tonnes. Satellite imaging estimates customarily need to be verified on the ground.
In addition, UNDP continues to deliver safe drinking water and to support the management of solid waste in the Gaza Strip.
