6. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Ibrahim Abu Ashiba, evacuation patient:
“I was shot several times, once in the chest, once in the shoulder, two in my hand. The two shots in my hand ended up cutting a nerve, I am no longer able to hold the camera or even move my hand naturally. Suddenly, my whole life stopped; from a person who spent his life studying to achieve his dreams, and photograph the things he loved, from photographing the simplicity of life, into someone who became the news himself after his injury, to someone who is a burden on himself, and the society around him. I can’t move my hand nor can I do anything with it.”
7. Med shot, showing Ibrahim’s injured arm
8. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Ibrahim Abu Ashiba, evacuation patient:

12. Various shots, patient Maria sitting on her mother’s lap, injuries to her leg visible
13. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Raghda Ahmed Al Shaer, mother of patient Maria Al-Shaer:
“Maria’s life turned upside down, she can’t walk, she lost all of her siblings, and that highly affected her psychologically; especially that she was the younger one, and her brothers used to play with her, and carry her around, you know what it's like for a child, in the end, she wants to play, she wants to live happily, and to have a future.”
