“The President of the General Assembly has received a new nomination for the SG selection process. It is Macky Sall, the former president of Senegal. He was nominated by the Republic of Burundi, who presented their papers this morning, and the President of the General Assembly and the President of the Security Council will inform member states jointly and circulate the information and communication that we have received shortly. The President of the General Assembly has received the nomination of Macky Sall as a candidate for Secretary-General of the United Nations, a spokesperson said.
La Neice Collins, Spokesperson for the 80th President of the UN General Assembly informed reporters today (02 Mar) that the former president of Senegal was nominated by the Republic of Burundi, who presented their papers this morning.
The President of the General Assembly and the President of the Security Council will inform Member States jointly and circulate the information and communication shortly.
The three official candidates for the next UN chief are Michelle Bachelet Jeria from Chile, Rafael Mariano Grossi from Argentina and Macky Sall from Senegal.
