“It’s time for the force of the law to prevail over the law of the force. It’s time for diplomacy to prevail over war,” UN Secretary-General said today (19 Mar) in Brussels.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres arrived in Brussels yesterday to participate in an informal discussion with the members of the European Council and have various bilateral meetings, including with European Union officials.
Today, the Secretary-General addressed the press with António Costa, President of the European Council, including about efforts to deal with the disruptions caused by the fighting in the Middle East.
Costa said, “The United Nations is a key institution in the international order. And now, in these very troubled moments that we are living, more than ever, it is decisive to uphold the international rules-based order, to support multilateralism, and to support United Nations' action.”
