“We really appreciate the American University Hospital as well as other hospitals who are receiving and managing the injured patients, which is over one thousand one hundred patients. And we lost over three hundred to date. And I think every day, the attacks are ongoing, the hospitalists are receiving. It's very important that the hospitals have their own limit, they're overwhelmed. And when it comes to the supplies, unless we have additional supplies in the pipeline, probably the hospitals might run out of supplies into them. WHO is working with the Minister of Health, we are working with the partners to see how we can, you know, bring more supplies just to ensure that there is adequate supplies that we have.

In the aftermath of the devastating airstrikes in Lebanon, WHO Lebanon intensified its emergency response to support overstretched health facilities and save lives.
The Ministry of Public Health reported a cumulative number of casualties since 2nd March, has reached 8,256 including 1,953 deaths and 6,303 injuries as of 6:00pm on April 10, 2026.
With hospitals nearing capacity and facing critical shortages, WHO is working closely with the Ministry of Health and partners to mobilize essential medical supplies and ensure continuity of care. To address urgent needs, WHO emergency-funded supplies will support the distribution of 15 WHO Trauma and Emergency Surgery Kits (TESK), sufficient to cover an estimated 1,500 trauma surgery cases. Distribution began on 10 April with 3 TESKs delivered to three major hospitals in Beirut. See attached Strep for more information.
