In response to the ongoing outbreak of Ebola disease caused by the Bundibugyo virus in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), the World Health Organization (WHO) mobilised 12 tonnes of emergency supplies to support the affected regions.

A total of 4.7 tonnes of essential medical supplies, were airlifted from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi on Monday (18 May). The United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) provided aircraft to support the collection of WHO cargo from Nairobi directly to Bunia, DRC.
