Storyline

The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, arrived in Bunia in the Democratic Republic of the Congo today (30 May) to support the ongoing Ebola national response in the eastern part of the country.

This high-level mission follows WHO determining on May 17, 2026, that the Ebola caused by the Bundibugyo virus as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.
