Following the earthquake in Haiti, some 4,000 prisoners escaped the national penitentiary. Haiti’s national police and United Nations Police (UNPOL) from the UN Mission in the country (MINUSTAH) continue to conduct search operations to arrest them and bring back to prison.
Today (14 May), Haitian police, UNPOL and a team from the Casques Blues Bresiliens (Brazilian contingent from MINUSTAH) search and arrested more than 10 prisoners.

So far, through 30 joint local police and MINUSTAH operations, more than 200 prisoners have been arrested.
