“The malaria now is becoming high and high. When you try to make the refeed task you can find all the patients which are coming to the clinic you can get that reefed positive.”

Following heavy rains in South Sudan which have resulted to over 200,000 people being displaced, reports from States affected by the rains indicate that cases of malaria and some waterborne diseases are on the rise.
Torrential rainfall has affected many rural areas displacing people from their homes and causing destruction of homes, floods and impassible roads.
A hospital in Warrap State has recorded an increase in patients.

With the rainy season still expected to continue, and the rise of water levels, South Sudanese President Salva Kiir has asked his people to remain vigilant, courageous and cooperative while rescue and mitigating factors are being exerted, and as the government, the United Nations and other Non-governmental assist the people.
