Security Council Extends AMISOM Mandate for One Year

A wide view of the Security Council as it unanimously adopts resolution 2093 (2013), extending the mandate of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) until 28 February 2014 and partially lifting a twenty-year arms embargo in order to help boost the Government's ability to protect areas recovered from Al-Shabaab.
