UN Honours Oscar Niemeyer and Fellow Architects of Iconic Headquarters
UN officials paid tribute to Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer and other members of the UN Board of Design, which created the iconic United Nations Headquarters complex in New York, in a special ceremony held at the General Assembly Hall. The youngest and last surviving member of the Board, Niemeyer died in December 2012 at the age of 104.
