Representative of Portugal Briefs Press following Veto on Syria Draft Resolution

José Filipe Moraes Cabral (second from right), Permanent Representative of Portugal to the UN, speaks to the press following the Security Council's consideration of a draft resolution strongly condemning ongoing violence by Syrian authorities against civilian protesters. The draft resolution was vetoed by two of the Council's permanent members, China and the Russian Federation. Mr. Moraes Cabral was among the nine Members, including all European Members, to vote in favour of the draft resolution.
