Committee on Information from Non-Self-Governing Territories Hears Danish Statement on Greenland

Denmark yesterday informed the Committee on Information from Non-Self-Governing Territories that as Greenland had ceased to be a non-self-governing territory, it considered itself no longer obliged to submit further reports on the territory to the United Nations under Article 73(e) of the Charter. The Danish delegate added that Greenland had become an integral part of the Danish Realm on 5 June 1953, with rights corresponding to those of other parts of the country.
