18-year-old Abdullah is a reporter for Radio NAF, a community radio station in Bangladesh.

He is a Rohingya refugee and is living in Kutupalong refugee site.

Together with Abdullah, over 600,000 Rohingya live here.

SOUNDBITE (Rohingya) Abdullah, Radio Reporter:
“At the radio station, my responsibility is to provide advice to people who lack the information they need to live in the camp. So I provide this information.”

Abdullah runs a one-person mobile radio show, the only radio coverage in Kutupalong.

He plays the radio shows at listener clubs and reports on Rohingya refugees’ concerns. His recordings are turned into weekly radio shows at Radio NAF headquarters, in the nearby town of TekNaf. The shows are information based, presenting solutions and offering advice on issues such as shelter, health, sanitation and education.
