“Aid workers are often harassed across the country and humanitarian compound and supplies have been looted and vandalized most recently in Yirol, in Jonglei, in Kajo Keji and Yei in central Equatoria in Wau Shiluk in upper Nile and in Mayendit inn Unity all this happens between February and March, Friends we discuss this issue with our government counterpart at the recently held humanitarian high level committee this took place about fortnight ago.”

“Over the past week as a direct result of abusage of violence in Wau some 17,000 people have taken refuge at the protection of civilians site in Wau town bringing the total number seeking protection in that site to some 42,000 people in central equatorial since the beginning of 2017 , conflict has caused massive displacements from Kajo Keji and elsewhere in the region , in upper Nile clashes on west bank in late January and February forced some 30,000 people to flee Wau Shilluk and surrounding areas while thousands of civilians in Unity continued to live in swarms and remote islands due to the fear of attacks.”

Aid workers have continued to raise concerns over the condition in which they operate in South Sudan.
During a press conference in Juba, the deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General, UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator, Eugene Owusu said Humanitarian workers are operating in dangerous environment and paying their ultimate sacrifice with their lives.
Owusu said 60 humanitarian workers have been relocated from parts Jonglei over the weekend following serious violence.

Owusu said civilians continue to be killed and subjected to horrendous violations, including sexual violence. He said some 17,000 people have fled to the UN protection of Civilians in Wau following violence in the area.

Meanwhile the UN Humanitarian Coordinator has said that new clashes since beginning of 2017 continue to uproot tens of thousands of people from their homes.
