“We have about 40 to 60 deliveries in a day. Maybe, CS [caesarean section] services or normal deliveries.”

“We need also to expand our delivery room. We have just three beds, delivery beds, we need to expand with four or five beds. We also need a number of equipment such as CTG, and other medical equipment and vital signs monitors, ultrasound machine and other disposables. Note: CTG cardiotocography monitor, to monitor the foetal heart rate.”

The 36-bed Al-Awda hospital is currently coping with a heavy load of at least 50 deliveries and 25 caesarean section per day. The hospital needs ongoing support to sustain health care provision.
