10. SOUNDBITE (English) Dr Ahmad Obeid, EMT Anaesthesiologist, Palestinian American Bridge - International Emergency Medical Team (PAB):
“The working conditions for the medical staff here is very hard. They are working without support, so they're working tirelessly, they're exhausted, very limited supplies. They have to be more like magicians than doctors trying to figure out how to help the patients with whatever they have. It's a very, very hard situation.”
11. SOUNDBITE (English) Dr Farhan Abdul Azeez, EMT Emergency Doctor, PAB:
“The people here are absolutely amazing, and they're worth every… If we could save one life, if we could make a difference for one child, if we can get one child transferred out of here to an outside country to get the care he needs for a limb reconstruction or rehab for a amputation, it's worth it. We all have to do our part.”
12. Various shots, Nour and her mother, Nour coughing
13. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Ameera Mohammad, Nour’s mother:
“I have been waiting for this news for a long time. I feel very happy now, thank god. I am hoping that my daughter will now recover after her treatment abroad.”

Additionally, we also referred one critical patient affected by cystic fibrosis from Kamal Adwan here to IMC Field Hospital in Rafah, together with the caretaker and the rest of the family. And in the next few days, we will also coordinate for the international medical evacuation abroad.”
17. SOUNDBITE (English) Patrick Münz, Head of Mission & Medical Evacuator, Cadus (International Emergency Medical Team):

Storyline

The World Health Organization (WHO) and partners deployed an international emergency medical team and evacuated a child from Kamal Adwan hospital in northern Gaza on Thursday (28 Mar). The emergency medical team - the first in northern Gaza - includes one general surgeon, one emergency doctor, one orthopedic surgeon and one anesthetist.

The evacuated patient is 12 years old with cystic fibrosis and in the next few days will be transferred abroad for further treatment.

The hospital is serving 120 patients at the moment, with about 700 patients circulating daily, including those who are referred from Al-Ahli hospital.

The pressure on health workers operating without relief is unimaginable.

Hospitals must be protected, and humanitarian partners must be allowed safe, sustained access to provide health aid, food, fuel and support in restoring the facilities to their full capacity.
